I have passed these last forty-eight years teaching throughout the world the middle way toward infinite liberty, eternal happiness and absolute justice; a way thousands of years old by which thousands and thousands have cured themselves of diseases called "incurable" and have started a new, infinitely happier life.
But I should stop this teaching. I do not like to repeat the same thing. Besides, if I save, by devoting my whole life to it, one or two million poor and unhappy ones, thermonuclear war will destroy all of humanity.
For forty-eight years I published some hundreds of books on the philosophy and medicine of the Far East which permits us to save ourselves from all misfortune. Now I have decided to write another one, one that shows us how to cure the biggest disease of man: thermonuclear war, the biggest destruction and slaughter. It is a sketch of the grandiose conception of the Universe.

1. Passive And Personal Defense
A. Maintain the normal K/Na proportion of your blood so that it neutralizes all invasion by Yin elements such as radioactive particles or emissions, viruses, etc.
B.
Observe most strictly macrobiotic regimen number seven. (See The Philosophy of Far Eastern Medicine, Book of Judgment, Zen Macrobiotics, etc.)
C. Buy ten kilograms of sea salt and a sack of whole rice immediately and put them in your car or in the cellar
of your shelter in a remote countryside spot. With that, you will be able to live at least six months without buying anything, by following macrobiotic principles.
There is no danger in observing my dietetic directives, whoever you may be. There is no medical, symptomatic and palliative treatment, no superstition, magic or pretended "miraculous" or spiritual cure. But these are the very ordinary manners of eating, observed by millions and millions of people in China and Japan over thousands of years, especially in Buddhist or Zen Monasteries and schools, for realizing SATORI.
You eliminate your used cells from your body each day, including one-tenth of your blood. Therefore, you can easily and completely renew the composition of your blood in ten days. All your cells are nourished by your blood, the cells in your judging-thinking machine, the brain, as well as those of the heart and liver. As long as you are attached to your old ways of eating and drinking (habit, which is the origin of your illness and unhappiness, if there is any) your sufferings cannot be cured. (Red blood cells can be destroyed completely by adding a solution of 0.8% sugar.)
The three main diseases in the U.S.A. - cancer, mental illness and cardiac troubles - are more or less officially incurable for modern medicine. Statistically, there are one-hundred-twenty-eight million persons in the U.S.A. who are registered as suffering from chronic diseases of one kind or another. (50 years ago) Such is the wrath of God, or the most total evidence of the violation of the order of the universe by modern man, who is directed by modern medicine.
What is preferable? To be civilized and intellectual but suffering from a chronic disease your whole life, to live in invincible uncertainty and fear, and die desperately, or to be an innocent savage who enjoys life in all circumstances?
I think that it is reasonable to be a modern man in this current life, while recognizing the ancient and honorable order of the universe.
I have written many books about it in the last forty-eight years. I won't talk about it here.
But who can apply this new education?
That's your business. War or peace - the choice is in your hands.
My dear, "civilized" Occidental friends, I count on you. I have yet another, more important and more interesting mission than the one of stopping thermonuclear war:
To make a big gift of the Unique Principle - the best and greatest thing in this world - to my macrobiotic friends who will survive this war.
